On the Stability of Source Separation Algorithms
This paper discusses the stability of algorithms for independent component analysis and the blind separation of signals. It builds on previous analysis of local asymptotic stability to present a simple, unifying view of the stability conditions and to provide a statistical interpretation of these conditions.
متن کاملESTIMATING EQUATIONS FOR SOURCE SEPARATION Jean-Fran
This paper proposes a unifying view of source separation via the concepts of `estimating function' and `estimating equation'. We exhibit the estimating functions corresponding to various known techniques like ICA, JADE, infomax, maximum likelihood, cumulant matching, etc: : :We also show how equivariant batch and adaptive algorithms stem from each particular estimating function and discuss thei...

متن کاملLearning in Manifolds: the Case of Source Separation
The blind signal separation (BSS) problem has a distinctive feature: the unknown parameter being an invertible matrix, the parameter set is a multiplicative group and the observations can be modeled by a transformation model. For this reason, it is possible to design on-line algorithms which are very simple and still offer excellent performance (typically: Newton-like performance at a gradient-...
متن کاملBlind source separation-semiparametric statistical approach
The semiparametric statistical model is used to formulate the problem of blind source separation. The method of estimating functions is applied to this problem. It is shown that estimation of the mixing matrix or its learning rule version is given by an estimating function. The statistical e ciencies of these algorithms are studied. The main results are as follows 1) The space of all the estima...
